Since the majority of the world’s population lives in cities today, problems related to their planning turn out to be of pivotal importance for the future of our civilization. The complexity of these issues and the “scale of burden of the past” are immense. Being the co-authors of several awarded or distinguished competition entries in the field of urban planning, we have taken up this challenge several times and we are still ready to face it. Architects happen to be one of the last professional groups educated “broadband”, and thus prepared to coordinate complex, multidisciplinary urban projects, integrating their cultural, environmental, technical and social aspects into coherent proposals without compromising aesthetic values.
