PROJECT VIKING – EXTENSION OF THE SKRUF FACTORY IN SAVSJO, SWEDEN

The SKRUF production facility is leased by Imperial Tobacco from the municipality of Savsjo. The plant produces a product called “snus” – so far absent from European market beyond Scandinavian countries. The APK was entrusted with the task of developing the concept of the extension and its general specification: “client’s brief”. On this basis, Enter Arkitektur AB, the local design office in Jönköping, developed further design phases. The project was completed in 2016. The plant in Savsjo initially had an area of approximately 6,800 m2, now, after expansion, it has reached 10,000 m2.
