After more than four years of intensive design work, detailed analyses, and complex consultations with the Provincial Office for the Protection of Monuments in Poznań, we obtained legally binding development conditions and finalized a comprehensive revitalization concept for the historic palace and park complex in Zajączkowo. This exceptional project merges respect for cultural heritage with a contemporary approach to architecture and landscape planning.

The complex is located on a unique, 1.5-hectare peninsula surrounded by the crystal-clear waters of Lake Zajączkowskie. At its heart stands a late Baroque palace, whose current form dates back to 1910, when it was expanded from an 18th-century manor once owned by the Urbanowski family. The palace is encircled by a historic landscape park of significant natural and compositional value. As part of our work, we conducted a thorough inventory of the park, with particular attention to natural monuments and valuable tree specimens.

The investment aims to transform the long-abandoned site into a high-standard recreational and hotel facility with SPA, conference, and event functions. The design preserves the site’s historical character while introducing a sustainable modern use. New buildings and amenities are planned only in areas where structures historically existed or still survive in a degraded state.

Our concept emphasizes the use of modern technologies to ensure energy efficiency, incorporate renewable energy sources, and minimize the environmental impact — both on the natural and cultural surroundings. The revitalization of the Zajączkowo estate is not only a respectful restoration of regional heritage, but also the creation of a contemporary destination for leisure and well-being that sets a benchmark for heritage adaptive reuse in Poland.
